During the mirconeedling treatment, ultra thin needles are pressed into the skin creating micro injuries or micro trauma, which triggers the skin’s healing abilities. As the skin heals, it fills in the small puncture holes with fresh, new skin cells, resulting in firmer, smoother skin and new collagen production.

What should I expect before and after my microneedling treamtment.
Makesure to avoid retinoids, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, hydroquinone, suntanning, and benzoyl peroxide 3 days prior to the procedure. After microneedling the skin is very sensitive to sunlight, we recommend minimal sun exposure and applying a medical grade sunscreen every two hours.

Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a skin treatment used to target wrinkles, acne scars, skin texture, and skin tone. Microneedling uses small needles to gently puncture the skin. As the skin heals, it fills the tiny punctures with fresh skin cells. The procedure encourages the skin to naturally produce more collagen and elastin to help diminish any skin issues. Microneedling is safe, painless, and effective; and the results are nearly immediate as the skin and collagen naturally heals itself. Acne scars and other issues are diminished. Microneedling can be done on nearly any part of the body, and patients with all different oily, combination, and dry skin can all benefit from microneedling.

Brittany White, certified ARNP or Nathalie Shen Esthetician, Facial Specialist will perform your consultation by examining your skin and reviewing your medical history.

The Process

During the microneedling process the SkinPen delivers a safe, painless, and consistent experience. Our SkinPen is cordless, which allows for smooth and unhindered movements as the skin surface is being worked on. The SkinPen uses sterile, single-use disposable needles to administer the healing benefits quickly to the desired area. The needles are never reused between patients, and there is absolutely no chance of cross-contamination. Every treatment is customized specifically for each patient’s needs. The needles safely penetrate the skin, collagen, and deep set acne scars as deeply as is needed for your specific skin care goals and skin type. Microneedling is safe and effective, even for those with sensitive skin. Even the most sensitive skin can react positively to microneedling.

Benefits Of Microneedling

The benefits of microneedling are extraordinary; softer skin, smoother appearance, diminished wrinkles and acne scars, and improvement of loose skin. The procedure is quick and painless, and the healing process begins immediately.

What To Expect After Treatment

The skin and collagen starts healing immediately after a microneedling treatment. The area and acne scars can remain red for up to 24 hours after the procedure, but since no heat or light is utilized, the skin heals quickly and effortlessly. We recommend avoiding prolonged sun exposure immediately after the procedure. Depending on the defects of the skin, you may also experience mild pinpoint bleeding, but this natural reaction stops immediately as the skin channels close. Skin will look and feel softer, smoother, and be more even in tone. Acne scars will be reduced. Skin creams and serums will be able to absorb more easily into your skin to further enhance the quality and appearance.

The SkinPen may be more effective than lasers, as the SkinPen targets problem areas without the use of heat and light. This allows the patients to feel more comfortable during and after the procedure, and cuts down on the amount of recovery time. The SkinPen is also safer than dermal rollers and other collagen builders, as the SkinPen has more precise movements to target problem areas. Many dermal rollers are made of low-quality metals that can be painful and nearly impossible to properly sterilize. The low-grade metals and sanitation hazard can lead to uneven treatment areas and possible skin infections. The micropen contains single-use surgical grade needles to assure accuracy and proper hygiene.
