Restylane Lyft Now FDA Approved for Hands

Restylane has been a filler product that has been used for making faces fuller. As a facial injection, it serves to give a person’s face a more youthful appearance. However, there is now a new use for Restylane Lyft that has just been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

Before Restylane Lyft was approved, a study was performed that included 89 participants who had natural effects of aging in their hands. New York City plastic surgeon explained that as people age, they experience a loss of fat volume and experience atrophy in the muscles of the hands, leading to more prominent bones, veins and tendons.

After the study participants used the filler in their hands, they experienced a more youthful look in them. Restylane Lyft makes the veins and tendons less visible and plumps the hands up. One of the best reasons for using the filler in the hands is that the hands can match the face in looking years younger as they could otherwise give away their true age.

Filler for Hands Isn’t New

Dermatologists explained that fillers have been used in the hands for quite some time now. Surprisingly, aging hands are a problem that bother a lot of people and make them more self-conscious, even when their face has a youthful appearance.

It is agreed that keeping the hands looking younger is a big part of combating the natural effects of aging. Generally, the doctor said that it’s important to address all visible areas of the body or that one area is going to give your age away.

How Does the Filler Work?

The Restylane Lyft filler can be administered in different ways depending on the doctor. Some doctors may inject the filler between tendons in small amounts while others might make a single large injection in the hand’s center and disperse it after it’s underneath the skin. Restylane Lyft would be administered after the use of an anesthetic to numb the area.

The effects of the filler should last anywhere from nine months to two years, with an average of around 10 months. Doctors agree that patients should get repeat treatments after a year or so in order to help maintain a more youthful appearance in their hands.

Restylane Lyft with Lidocaine is a clear injectable dermal filler gel. This supplement expands the indication for Restylane Lyft with Lidocaine to include being intended to help improve the appearance of aging hands with moderate to severe volume loss. Restylane Lyft with Lidocaine consists of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine. Generally, the newly-approved filler is thought to be more appropriate for people with considerably thin skin who might be of advanced age. We stress that patients should always ask any and all questions during and even before their appointment so that they can get peace of mind about the product’s safety.
